QUICK AND EASY RECIPES

These recipes for pretzels have been approved by the staff at Tasty Twisters.  Enjoy!

PRETZEL PIE

  Serves 8 to 10
  Prep Time 15 Minutes
  Oven Temp: 375 F.
  Baking Time: 8 Minutes
CRUST:  
1 & 1/4 Cups thin hard pretzels  
1/4 cup sugar  
   
FILLING:  
1 to 1/2 quarts ice cream Chocolate Sauce
1/3 cup coarsely chopped pretzels  

Crust In blender, crush pretzels. In a bowl, mix pretzel crumbs, sugar and butter until well blended. Form a crust in a 9 inch pie pan and bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes, cool or freeze.

Filling: Fill the prepared crust with softened ice cream and freeze. When serving, garnish with extra thin pretzels in a design or coarsely chopped pretzels. Top with chocolate sauce. This is a pretzel and ice cream lovers' delight!

STRAWBERRY JELL-0 SALAD

  Serves 2 T0 5
  Prep Time 15 Minutes
  Oven Temp: 350 F.
  Baking Time: 8 Minutes
2 cups crushed pretzels Refrigerate 2 hours before serving
3/4 cup melted butter  
3 to 4 tablespoons sugar  
1 package ( 8 ounces) cream cheese  
1 cup sugar  
1 tub ( 8 ounces) whipped topping ( Cool Whip)  
1 package ( 6 ounces ) strawberry gelatin ( JELLO-O)  
2 cups boiling water  
1 pint frozen strawberries ( not fresh )  

Mix crushed pretzles, melted butter and 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar together. Pat in bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9 inch baking pan. Bake 8 minutes in a preheated 350-degree oven. Do not overbake. Cool completely.

Combine cream cheese and sugar. Mix until lightg and fluffy. Fold whipped topping into cream cheese mixture. When pretzels are cool, put mixture on top, put in the refrigerator.

Dissolve gelatin in 2 cups boiling water, add frozen strawberries. Put mixture in refrigerator and when almost thick, but not completely solid, put on top of whipped topping mixture.

Refrigerate 2 hours before serving.
